About Us It's all about treasures - beautiful things, nice quality, American made with excellent value for the cost. Elaine and Vic's treasure hunting has found over 350 artisans offering affordable treasures, most designs inspired by Nature. Almost everything offered at Earthly Treasures is functional and ranges from fun and funky to inspiring and elegant. There are home and garden furnishings, accessories, lots fo unique gifts a recipient will treasure, lovely jewelry, soaps, candles, New Hampshire and Newfound Lake memorabilia, inspirational items and lots more. Earthly Treasures began as a place to sell their hand-forged metal art. They added complimentary items such as candles, pottery and glass and it began to grow. In early 2000 they decided to "expand" the store and that they did with the purchase of a 10,000 sq. ft. building in Bristol, NH just 6 miles from their home. The items offered increased each year and today the store features the works or over 350 American artisans. Many artisans are from New Hampshire, a state where fine craft has a long tradition. Many more are from New England and the rest are from every corner of the Country and a few from Canada.Finding the right product for the store is a never ending yet enjoyable job. Vic & Elaine were fortuanate from years doing craft and trade shows to meet many fine artisans whose work they now carry. In thier travels around the country they look for local artisans whose work meet there qualifications of price, quality and appeal. | About Vic & Elaine Victor MacAdam has worked metals in one form or another since his twenties and has been self-employed most of his life. He studied welding and metallurgy at Wentworth Institute in Boston, Ma. In 1979 they bought a blacksmith shop in Marlboro, Ma. The blacksmith came with it and Vic learned the ancient art of blacksmithing. Today Vic and Elaine are state juried members of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Elaine plans the product line and does the basic design of their ironwork. Victor does the forging of steel, grinding, cleaning and painting of the metal work. Elaine often details the finished piece.Elaine spent most of her career in software development of financial accounting systems as well as a few years in banking. In 1994 she decided to look inward and figure out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Earthly Treasures was it and she has put her managerial, project management and marketing experience to good use. Both Vic and Elaine feel very blessed to do what they do. Everyday they are surrounded by beautiful things and sounds. In their store on Lake Street they meet and talk with people from the local are and many tourists from all over the world.
